FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (F.A.Q.)
Q: Do I need any artistic experience to make a mosaic lamp?
A: Absolutely not! Our Turkish Mosaic Lamp Workshop is structured for absolute beginners. We provide pre-cut glass pieces, easy-to-follow templates, and step-by-step guidance on color coordination and pattern design. No drawing or artistic background is necessary.
Q: What kind of lamp will I make?
A: Participants typically create one standard-size mosaic globe lamp, usually a "swan neck" desk lamp or a small table lamp. We provide all the necessary components, including the glass globe, plaster, and metal base.
Q: How long does the workshop take?
A: The standard Mosaic Lamp Workshop is a focused and detailed activity, generally lasting around 1.5 to 2 hours. This allows enough time for the intricate work of carefully placing the glass tesserae and applying the plaster.
Q: Is the lamp finished and ready to take home right after the workshop?
A: The globe portion will be completed during the workshop. However, the wet plaster (grout) used to seal the glass pieces needs time to fully dry and set.
For private/corporate events: We handle the final sealing process and coordinate a later pick-up or shipping schedule with your event organizer.
Q: Are the lamps functional? Do they come with wiring?
A: Yes, the finished mosaic lamp is fully functional. We provide the metal base and all necessary electrical components (wiring, bulb holder, and bulb) that comply with US safety standards. Your lamp will be ready to plug in and use once it is fully cured and assembled.
Q: Can I choose my own colors and pattern?
A: Yes! While our instructors provide guidance on color theory and traditional Turkish patterns, you have full creative freedom to select your glass colors and design your unique mosaic pattern, ensuring your lamp is a one-of-a-kind creation.
Q: Is this activity suitable for corporate team building?
A: Absolutely. The Mosaic Lamp Workshop is one of our most popular corporate activities because it promotes focus, patience, and concentration (a "flow state"). It’s a rewarding team experience that results in a beautiful, lasting symbol of their collaborative effort. We can host large teams at our studios or use our Mobile Workshop service for your office.
